This has got me baffled. I have been hearing scratching above my office but have had 3 separate pest controllers out who have found nothing!
We do have cavity roof insulation which makes it more difficult to see droppings but also boards up so that we can walk in the loft and there are no droppings there. So the questions for pest controlling experts are, is it possible the mice would stay in the one small area of the loft and not wander to other areas and, short of hauling out every bit of insulation, what else can we do?
I even hired a thermal imaging camera but it happened to be very quiet on that day.
To be clear I am sure there is something up there and it's not just heating/cooling noises but we (and the pest controllers) are struggling to find anything!!!!
