all depends on the coin value. Right now coins are up. So if you are paid ~ 5 thousands of a bitcoin for mining some alt coin and the bitcoin is worth 500 bucks it's probably not worth your electricity. But if the bitcoin is worth $2500, then the 5 thousands of a bitcoin will be worth more than your electricity.
Right now coins are up. Take a look at the historc charts. Will they stay there? nobody really knows…
